After completing his business studies at the University of Economics in Vienna, Markus held the position of internal strategic advisor at Verbund, Austria's leading electricity company.  At the same time, he wrote his thesis on the deregulation of the European electricity market.  After his graduation, he accepted a new challenge as assistant to the CEO of BACA Futures AG, a subsidiary of Bank Austria Creditanstalt Group.
In 1999 he moved to the UK, did his MBA at Oxford University, and then founded his company, Oxford Consult Ltd, in London in September, 2000.
Oxford Consult has carried out strategic and e-business strategy projects for many well-known companies.  In the course of this work, Markus has executed numerous large, international management development and organisational development projects in the energy and financial sectors.
In 2004 he moved his seat of operations to Vienna.
